WHIPPANY, N.J., July 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Suburban Propane Partners, L.P. (NYSE: SPH), a nationwide distributor of propane, fuel oil and related products and services, as well as a marketer of natural gas and electricity, today announced the following executive appointment in line with its strategic direction.

Michael M. Keating has been appointed Senior Vice President, Administration. Mr. Keating joined the Partnership in July 1996 as Vice President, Human Resources and Administration. Prior to joining the Partnership, he held senior human resource positions with the Partnership's predecessor. Mr. Keating has led the Partnership's succession planning initiatives and has played a major leadership role in driving the cultural changes that were necessary to successfully integrate the Partnership's acquisitions of other businesses, particularly the 2003 acquisition of the assets of Agway Energy Products. He will continue to oversee all matters relating to the many human resource and administrative functions and requirements of the Partnership, utilizing his 25 years of combined experience as a human resource professional and will work closely with the newly-appointed Chief Executive Officer to facilitate the growth of the organization.
